Stand on the Promises of God
INTRODUCTION.
A. If we study the scriptures as we should, then we will see many great and precious promises. (2 Peter 1:3-4)
B. These promises are unchangeable.
C. Let us consider the promises that we, as Christians, should be standing upon.
I. THE PROMISES OF GOD.
A. God promised that few would find the way to eternal life in heaven. (Matthew 7:13-14)
B. Those who obey God’s word will be saved. (Matthew 7:21-23; Romans 6:17,18)
C. Those who do not obey God’s word will be destroyed. (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9)
D. Those who do not hear the gospel’s call will be destroyed. (Acts 3:22,23)
E. If we confess Christ before men, then He will confess us before His Father. (Matthew 10:32,33)
F. We are baptized into Christ for the remission of our sins. (Galatians 3:26-27; Acts 2:38)
G. If we worship God in spirit and in truth, then our worship will be accepted by God. (John 4:23-24)
H. If we develop spiritually, then we will have eternal life in heaven. (2 Peter 1:5-11)
I. Being steadfast will make our labor not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
J. If we live faithful unto the Lord, then we will receive a crown of life and of righteousness. (Revelation 2:10; James 1:12; 2 Timothy 4:6-8)
CONCLUSION.
A. Rather than standing on a weak and sandy foundation, let us all stand upon the promises of God.
B. Believe the promises of the Lord today and make the necessary changes in your life.
